The holidays are a time for being thankful and celebrating with friends and family. There is no better time to give back to the community by helping those who might be a little less fortunate. This year, as in years past, DAAKE employees were out in force spreading a little holiday cheer.
The DAAKE team adopted five seniors through Home Instead’s Be a Santa to a Senior program. This program is designed to spread holiday cheer to lonely or financially challenged seniors. It has attracted upwards of 60,000 volunteers over the past six years. Since introducing the Be a Santa to a Senior, the program has helped provide 1.2 million gifts to more than 700,000 seniors.
Our team also participated in The Nebraska Medical Center’s Wish List program. Everyday, seriously ill patients and their families must call the hospital home for an extended period of time. Thanks to the generosity and support The Nebraska Medical Center is able to provide these patients and families with some extra amenities to help make their stay at the hospital more comfortable and enjoyable.
DAAKE’s own Susan Cannella wrapped gifts on behalf of Make-A-Wish Foundation. The Make-A-Wish Foundation has enriched the lives of children with life-threatening medical conditions through its wish-granting work.
Through membership in the American Advertising Federation of Omaha, Dawn Drazdys donated books and blankets to Midwest Heart Connection so children with congenital heart disease would be comforted in the hospital over the holiday season.
