Nebraska Football iPad (i93) App
Achieving full potential is a primary goal for football coaches and players alike. Thanks to a sweet new iPad application developed by DAAKE for the University of Nebraska, a high-tech gift from former Husker defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh is realizing its full potential. Suh donated 123 Apple iPads to replace the back-lit nameplates on every locker for the football team. The DAAKE app, named i93 in recognition of Suh’s jersey number at Nebraska, enables the NU coaching staff to communicate with the players via the iPads in the varsity locker room and the walk-on locker room at Hawks Championship Center. Uniquely interactive and personalized, the app gives each player access to the Internet and other valuable information. Football staff can post events to any player’s iPad calendar such as the times of each practice, conditioning session, academic meeting or position meeting, even if it’s called at the last minute. The i93 app doesn’t guarantee NU an undefeated season – but it is a cool way for the coaches and players to stay organized and focused.
