Nebraska Football Experience Room
For Husker Heisman Trophy winners Mike Rozier, Johnny Rodgers and Eric Crouch, watching video of their gridiron plays in the new, state-of-the-art Nebraska Football Experience Room rekindles the excitement they felt during the history-making games. Situated in the front lobby of the North Stadium Complex on the University of Nebraska-Lincoln campus, the Nebraska Football Experience Room showcases Husker tradition for fans, players and recruits. The room, which features an extraordinary curved video display and surround sound, is a collaboration between DAAKE, Contrivium Design & Urbanism, Inc. and The Mixing Room. Dedicated on the eve of 2009′s Nebraska-Oklahoma football game, the Husker Heisman winners toured the impressive room with N.U. Athletic Director Tom Osborne, the man who recruited all three. “I love the way the room incorporates all the new technology,” Rodgers said afterward. “I know our recruits and all our fans will enjoy the new video because Mike, Eric and I loved every minute of it. We enjoyed watching history come alive in a very unique way.” The room is open to the public free of charge.
The room features the story of gameday at Nebraska. DAAKE and The Great Plains Motion Picture Company joined forces to produce, direct and edit the film. We filmed six home games during the 2009 campaign capturing over 30 hours of footage. We ran with the players during the tunnel walk, witnessed their pre-game in the locker room, collided with them on the sidelines and celebrated with them after the victories. The result is a gripping, authentic representation of sunrise to sunset during the college football season in Lincoln. The full film can be seen in the Nebraska Football Experience Room inside Memorial Stadium seven days a week.
